Series 2/2A Land Rover Basic Specifications Basic specifications of the Series II/IIA models did not differ much from the late Series I models. Changes made were often due to demands from owners for more load carrying capacity and better overall performance.
The ‘payload’ is the load(excluding the driver & 1 passenger) that the vehicle may reasonably be expected to carry comfortably cross-country. It is generally around 1000lb(460kg) throughout the model range, except for the 1500lb(680kg) of the 109inch ‘1 ton’.
