John Wright and Series
Land Rovers
John has participated in
trialling in an 80" Series One Land Rover and won
several competitions. He has also competed in a V8 Lightweight
Land Rover and won the All Wheel Drive Offroad Racing
Championship in 1985 and 1986 in a Range Rover space frame
special.
He trained to be a mechanical
engineer and comes from an engineering background; his
grandad was a highly skilled engineer. John's father (Jake
Wright) joined the RAF during WW2 and worked on the infamous
Spitfire fighter aircraft. John himself soon became interested
in Landrovers and at the age of 18 rebuilt his first series
I (ex army) '86"

John's first land Rover - he couldn't wait to get it finished!
With help and encouragement
from his parents it was decided to buy some ex army landrovers
which were then refurbished and put up for sale; and so
Jake Wright Ltd was formed in 1973.
John now runs the family
business of Jake
Wright Ltd, a 30-year old company specialising in
the sales, repair, maintenance and restoration of Land
Rovers. The company is based in the picturesque vale of
Wharfedale in West Yorkshire, England.
